It's Anniversary Time!!!

Three years and eleven days ago I became the luckiest man ever. I married Laura Marie Jeff. I was in some deep thought today and I was contemplating how different my life is now compared to before. All of it better I mean I tried to make a list of all the "differences" between now and then but it would have required some research and with the fall TV season in full swing and this shift work I didn't get around to it as you can tell by the fact that I planned on writing this entry on my actual anniversary. I was planning on making a two column list of "then"(ex. 19" RCA not flat screen) and "now"(ex. 50" Samsung 1080p DLP) but I think it sounds pretty cheesy now so I will just say I love my wife and congrats to her for putting up with my nerdy self for three long years.

Get excited about the new TV season! I forgot how much fun it is to not be pissed about strikes and wondering how many episodes you were actually going to get before the season was over. There are several shows that I want to give a shout out too that may not be new shows this season but they are new to me.

Always Sunny in Philadelphia - FX, Thursdays 10pm - In it's 4th season this show is a raunchy and hysterical show about a group of friends including the dad, Danny Devito, who run a bar in Philly that is a crap hole. With episodes titled "Who pooped the bed?", "The Gang Find's a Dead Guy", and "Sweet Dee is Dating a Retarded Person" you know it's quality TV.
How I Met Your Mother - CBS, Mondays 7:30pm - Great Friends-esque new show with a group of friends living close to each other and the show is a profile of their shenanigans. The premise is the main character telling his kids stories about how he met their mother.
30 Rock - NBC, Thursday 8:30pm(right after The Office) - New season hasn't actually started yet it starts this week but I caught up with it on Hulu, http://www.hulu.com/ it is an amazingly funny show and it is worth a watch for sure. Unless you have been living under a rock you know it is a behind the scenes of a SNL/MadTV sketch comedy show and Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Tracey Morgan are outstanding.

Three other new shows I am watching but don't know if I am sold on yet are Gary, Unmarried, Fringe and Life on Mars.

My frequent watches are The Office, CSI(all three), Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, SNL, Heroes, Big Bang Theory, Family Guy, Eli Stone, Greek, and Chuck. I know what you're thinking that's a lot of TV but DVR is a beautiful thing.

Other than new TV shows I must say that Rockband 2 has been an outstanding upgrade from the original with the weird schedule I have been on I haven't gotten to play as much as I would like but the new songs are outstanding and being able to create a band member that can play any instrument is my favorite improvement, they also added a thrift shop with cool t-shirts and old school duds. The Gloved Ones have already had their first show and I am working to schedule some more.

Also for you that will appreciate it - http://www.biggerbetterbeards.org/

Only one book finished this time but it was a neat one.

The Sex Lives of Cannibals - J. Maarten Troost (4 out of 5) A memoir about a guy who follows his wife to Tarawa, a remote South Pacific island atoll in the Republic of Kiribati. He spends two years on the island while his wife works for a relief agency. The island has no electricity, running water or toilets but it becomes home for them so much so that they have trouble deciding to leave. It is an extremely easy read and as far as travelly books go one of the best I have read.
