Coffee keeps me alive

I love my wife, books, video games, movies, friends and coffee. Either your with me or against me but at least come by my house, drink some coffee with me, and we can talk about it.

I wouldn't say I'm missing it...

but this break, at least for a couple days, of college football has been restful. I posted earlier that I was going to try to watch at least three quarters of every bowl game during this post-season. Well with 29 out of the 32 games in the books it looks like I might be victorious. Out of the 29 so far I have seen 27 games. I know what your thinking, "that's not all of them?" The problem came from the NFL Network which was not offered in my viewing area so... I have watched 27 out of the 27 games that have come on television so far :). Quite an accomplishment if I may toot my own horn for a second or so. There that was good enough. Anyway Auburn won so WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!! and one last thing about college football before I begin to reminisce, I have been enthralled with the Georgia Tech fight song for years especially after hearing the opening line, I'm a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech and a helluva engineer. Well today I found the fight song in it's entirety and I thought I would share it with anyone else who shared my curiosity.

Official fight song:
Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech

I'm a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech
And a hell of an engineer--A helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, hell of an engineer,
Like all the jolly good fellows,
I drink my whiskey clear.
I'm a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech
And a hell of an engineer.

Oh! If I had a daughter,
sir,I'd dress her in White and Gold.
And put her on the campus
To cheer the Brave and Bold.*
But if I had a son, sir,
I'll tell you what he'd do
He would yell, "To Hell with Georgia,"
like his daddy used to do.

Oh! I wish I had a barrel of rum
And sugar three thousand pounds,
A college bell to put it in
And a clapper to stir it round,
I'd drink to all good fellows
Who come from far and near.
I'm a ramblin', gamblin',
Hell of an engineer! Hey!
(*Some students will substitute the line"To raise the ratio!" referring to the low female-male ratio in the student body.)

Great huh, I wish my song talked about drinking and gambling instead of eagles flying, but hey I would rather be at Auburn than Georgia Tech any day (No offense yellow jackets I just love the plains).

Finally, I wanna say happy new year to everyone and I hope that this year treats you all well. We have loved our new house especially now that it is finally coming together, this year we should have all the painting done and our furniture is trickling in as well. It looks a little sad now without it's Christmas decorations and I don't know why but I always feel guilty putting the nativity scene away. Good luck to you all in the new year and GO GATORS!
